Keep It Coming

Lord we pray that the Double Gloucester is in stock in M&S today
And that also the tea and coffee of our choice
Has been driven up from pastures south.
And Chunky Chips that cook in 30 minutes
Be there also to sustain us.

And all the other things in our trolley that we gather
May they all be there
Regardless of the English weather.

And keep the shops in Scotland open wide
While in England the tills in silence hide –
Especially on Sunday.

And of the sporting world that flits across our viewing screen
Less please of Brechin City and Aberdeen.
We'd rather really enjoy the skills and hassle
Of teams like Newcastle.

And insurances that let us sustain a car
To let us gaze on the beauties of Lochnagar,
Are all provided in ample measure
By the nice people in Chipping Ongar.

But let us not forget the fact that Scottish Power
That with pride brings energy to Berriedale and Portgower
Is but a trinket in the crown of Iberdrola
With headquarters in Bilbao.

Thus in affirmation the call is clear
For all the goods and services we in Scotland hold dear,
We say 'Keep it coming'.

I have interests is a wide range of topics and have written on these and more formal subjects for quite some time. The written word still retains the power to inform and motivate - hopefully constructively and certainly has to be used responsibly in an age of false information trails.
